ibtm world 2016 Wrap-Up

Speaking In Spain

I had the opportunity to speak to the attendees of ibtm world in Barcelona, Spain inside the Innovation Zone curated by Event Manager Blog. It was wonderful to present on some of the topics that were central to some of the more popular articles I wrote for Event Manager Blog this year in a modified version of the PechaKucha presentation style. I was given 20 minutes to speak backed up by 20 slides I created that transitioned every 60 seconds automatically. While not the easiest format for all presenters, the result is a fast-paced value driven experience for audience members.

My presentations were:

In addition, I was a panelist at a presentation called 10 trends for 2017 along with the other co-writers of the 10 Event Trends for 2017 Report. The report was released online for free while we were attending ibtm world and received 1,000 new downloads during each day of the exhibition. Our panel further elaborated on what we see coming for event professionals in the following year in the categories of event design, destination and venue selection, technologies, and marketing. You can watch our panel here.

Aspects of my presentations are available online in video format.

I met some of the smartest and most passionate event professionals who are moving the industry forward into uncharted territories all over the world. To be asked to contribute to this movement has been a professional high point for me.
